Courtyard House is a private residence designed around a simple premise: create a home that feels connected to the landscape while remaining deeply private.
A sequence of enclosed gardens, shaded terraces and quiet interior spaces creates a gradual transition between the outside world and the life within.

03 — Material & climate
Built for the tropics.
The architecture uses deep overhangs, cross ventilation, shaded courtyards and carefully positioned openings to respond naturally to Kandy's tropical climate. Exposed concrete, local stone and warm timber create a restrained material palette that becomes quieter as the house moves deeper into the landscape.
